A concert featuring Haydn’s fascinating settings of Welsh folk songs, arranged towards the end of his life and commissioned by the publisher George Thomson in Edinburgh for vocal solo and duet with piano trio. Haydn Trio Eisenstadt also present a new work by the Belgian composer Jacqueline Fontyn commissioned by Haydn Festival Eisenstadt 2009 to commemorate Haydn’s bicentenary. |
