Romanian violinist Horia Vacarescu is joined by fellow Romanians the cellistAnton Niculescu, former principal cellist of La Scala, wonderful pianist Andrei Licaret, and the famous violist Vladimir Mendelssohn, to perform Mahler’s only Piano Quartet, and the wonderfully passionate and dramatic C minor Piano Quartet by Brahms. The musicians are then joined by double bass player Stacey Watton for Schubert’s ever-popular Trout Quintet.

This concert is generously supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute, London

This evening Horia Vacarescu is playing on a Vincenzo Ruggeri violin made in Cremona 1720, kindly made available through the Dorothy Croft Trust for Young Musicians”
