Andrzej Panufnik, 1914–1991, is not only one of Poland’s most famous composers, but the one who chose London as his home following the dramatic escape from the Soviet authorities in 1954. This concert celebrates his unique contribution to 20th century music, presenting all three of his string quartets, a sextet, and the premiere of a new work composed by his daughter, Roxanna Panufnik.
