Overview

Park Lane Group Young Artists Concert

Glazunov Rêverie orientale, Op. 14 for clarinet and string quartet
Mozart Quintet for horn and strings in E flat, K.407
Schubert Octet in F, D.803

The first concert in an exciting new collaboration between the LCMS and the distinguished Park Lane Group, founded in 1956 to promote young artists at the beginning of their professional careers. PLG young artists are always exceptional, and selection for the scheme is a great honour. Consequently the list of PLG artists over the years reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of distinguished musicians.

In this concert, featuring some of the most beautiful chamber music ever composed – the great Schubert Octet, Mozart’s wonderful Quintet for horn and strings and a rare gem by the Russian romantic Glazunov from 1886 – we have the opportunity to hear performers who will soon become some of the most famous names in their profession.
