Three distinguished chamber musicians present a concert featuring the French horn in Romantic chamber music guise, with Beethoven’s Horn Sonata and Brahms’ famous trio for horn, violin and piano – an especially personal and autobiographical work given his father’s job as a professional horn player. Between these comes one of the most intimate of Romantic violin works, the beautiful A minor sonata by Schumann, together with Bartók’s wild gypsy-like writing of his first Violin Sonata.
