In this inspiring programme, the excellent Tippett Quartet will perform Mozart’s sublime G minor String Quintet, Beethoven’s last quartet, the suite from Bernard Herrman’s famous film score for Hitchcock’s Psycho, and to mark the centenary of the Polish composer Andrzej Panufnik, the last of his three quartets, composed in 1990 and subtitled Messages.

Nils Klöfver is a prize-winning Swedish guitarist based in London. Being a versatile player he appears as a concerto soloist, solo recitalist and in variety of ensembles (in duos with flute, violin, bandoneon etc). Inspired by the Herrmann film music suite programmed for the later concert, Nils’ programme will include famous guitar solos that also have appeared in films; Cavatina (The Deer Hunter) and Requerdos de la Alhambra (Forbidden Games).
