Zhislin, Podobedov & Blaumane Piano Trio with Gillian Keith (soprano)

London continues to be enriched by fine musicians from Russia and the Baltic States. Well known Russian musicians Yuri Zhislin (violin) and Sergei Podobedov (piano) are joined by the Latvian cellist Kristina Blaumane(principal cellist of the London Philharmonic Orchestra) in piano trios by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.
The distinguished soprano Gillian Keith joins them all in songs for voice, strings and piano by Massenet – his Élégie from Vingt Mélodies (1872) – excerpts from Borodin’s Songs & Romances and Taneyev’s beautiful Canzone for soprano and piano trio.
