Allegri Quartet - Complete Beethoven Quartets 3 - May 8th 2011
The Allegri Quartet, Ofer Falk (violin), Rafael Todes (violin), Dorothea Vogel (viola)
and Katherin Jenkinson (cello) appreciating applause after playing
Dmitri Shostakovich: String Quartet No.4 in D Op.83
 
 
 

After the interval the Quartet played Beethoven's String Quartet in C Op.59 No.3
and received warm applause for their lovely performance. A two min video clip
from the 4th movement is available on our website.

Chilingirian & Fields String Quartets
with Michael Dussek (piano) - May 1st 2011
The Chilingirian Quartet was joined by pianist Michael Dussek
for a wonderful Schumann - Piano Quintet in Eb Op.44 which
was enthusiastically applauded. From l to r: Michael Dussek (piano),
Susie Mészáros (viola), Bernard Gregor-Smith (cello), Ronald Birks (2nd violin)
and Levon Chilingorian (1st violin).
 
 
 

After the interval the quartet was joined by the young Fields Quartet
for a moving performance of Mendelssohn's Octet for strings in Eb Op.20
.

Russian Virtuosi of Europe & Ashley Wass (piano) - April 17th 2011

The Russian Virtuosi of Europe, leader Yuri Zhishlin, enjoying the applause
after playing Mozart's Salzburg Symphony No.1 in D K.136
'The Salzburg Symphonies K136-38 are known officially as divertimenti'.

They were joined by pianist Ashley Wass for Mendelssohn's
Concerto in D minor for Violin, Piano and Strings which received
enthusiastic applause from our audience.
 
The evening ended by the Virtuosi giving us a wonderful performance of
Bartok's Divertimenti on Strings.

The Badke Quartet - April 10th 2011

The Badke Quartet, Lana Trotovšek (violin), Emma Parker (violin),
Jon Thorne (viola)and Jonathan Byers (cello) enjoying enthusiastic

The Kodaly Quartet - March 27th 2011

The Kodaly Quartet, Attila Falvay (violin), Erika Tóth (violin),
György Éder (cello) János Fejérvári (viola), receiving applause
after playing a wonderful Mendelssohn: Quartet No.3 in D Op.44 No.1

To end the evening the Quartet gave us a lovely performance
of Bartok's String Quartet No.5 before playing a Schubert Encore
in response to enthusiastic applause.

Turner Ensemble Concert 3 - March 20th 2011

The Turner Ensemble, Ania Sofanova (violin), Jan Schmolk (violin), Fiona Bonds (viola),

After the interval the Ensemble were joined by cellist Sally Pendlebury and
gave us a wonderful performance of Schubert's String Quintet in C, D.956 (Op.163)

and Daniel Veis (cello) gave us an inspiring performance of

To end the evening the Trio, Kati Raitinen (cello), Johanna Persson (viola),
and Cecilia Zilliacus (violin) gave us a wonderful performance of J.B. Bach's
Goldberg Variations (arr. Sitkovetsky), enthusiastically applauded.

The Chilingirian Quartet, Levon Chilingirian (violin), Ronald Birks (violin),
Susie Mészáros (viola), and Philip De Groote (cello). enjoying the applause
after playing Hummel's String Quartet in G Op.30 No.2.
 
 
After playing Peter Fribbins' String Quartet No.2 ‘After Cromer’, the composer
joined the Quartet to congratulate them for their fine performance.
 
 
The Quartet received tremendous applause after playing their final
piece of the evening, Beethoven's String Quartet in Ef Op.127.

Primrose Piano Quartet - November 7th 2010
 
Three members of the Quartet, Susanne Stanzeleit (violin),
Robin Ireland (viola) and Andrew Fuller (cello) began the evening with a
lovely performance of Beethoven's String Trio in G Op.9 No.1.
 
 
This was followed by the Piano Quartet giving the London Première
of Dmitri Smirnov's Piano Quintet, which was enthusiastically applauded.

The Primrose Piano Quartet with the addition of violinist Clara Biss
ended the evening playing 'From Gypsy Life’ for piano and string quintet
