27 Sept 2026, 18:00 BST
St John’s Church, Waterloo Rd, London SE1 8TY, UK
Our opening concert in the LCMS 2026/27 series features guitar and string quartet, and the rich expressive possibilities from plucked and bowed strings combined. The Valegro Quartet – Takanori Okamoto and Sophia Molina (violins), Haruka Makino (viola), Doraly Gill (cello) – are joined by guitarist Alexandra Păceană in music by Mozart, striking new arrangements of music by J.S. Bach and George Enescu, and one of the best-loved guitar quintets in the repertoire, the Quintet that Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco composed for Segovia in 1950.
In collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute, London.
The LCMS would like to thank the Romanian Cultural Institute for their generous support of this event.
