About the event

Soloists from the English Symphony Orchestra perform a concert of string ensemble classics, beginning with the sextet from Strauss’s late opera ‘Capriccio’, premiered in 1942. Mozart’s ever popular G minor quintet follows, with its dark and dramatic minor key colours, and the musicians finish with one of the triumphs of the string ensemble repertoire - Brahms’s powerful second sextet in G major.

Violins: Darragh Morgan, Suzanne Casey

Violas: Sarah-Jane Bradley, Nancy Johnson

Cellos: Joely Koos, Kenneth Woods
